What To Wear for Salsa Lessons at SSQQ in Houston?

Hi, I’ve heard that for dance lessons in general, and salsa in particular, shoes that DON’T grip the floor are best. But what attire is the best for salsa lessons- for guys AND girls- without being over-dressed or under-dressed? My boyfriend isn’t sure if a polo and jeans is ok, and I’d like to wear jeans too. We’re brand new at this
